Developed by prominent vocal instructor, Seth Riggs (vocal consultant to such celebrated performers as Natalie Cole, Bernadette Peters, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Prince and the late, great Ray Charles, to name but a few), Speech Level Singing is a technique that is used to achieve increased vocal range, dexterity and stamina, as well as a more relaxed and desirable tone.

Bridges in the voice, or ‘passagi’, are passage areas where resonance shifts occur as a result of vocal cord adjustments that must take place for a singer to sing high or low in the vocal range. If we do not learn how to pass through these bridges properly, what often happens is the muscles around the larynx tighten in an effort to stretch the vocal cords to hit the desired pitch. This is very harmful to the voice and can cause serious damage.

The SLS technique helps you to learn how to pass through your bridges smoothly and comfortably so that you can sing freely and clearly anywhere in your vocal range.
